Land Rover Range Rover Velar

A calm presence in blue

The blue Range Rover Velar is an SUV with a more understated character than its imposing looks might suggest. From the driving seat, it feels better suited to a composed run along Sheikh Zayed Road than to making a fuss at every set of lights. The automatic transmission also makes it an easy car to live with when Downtown traffic slows to a crawl.

Its cabin gives passengers room to settle in, while the SUV body makes getting in and out straightforward at hotel entrances. Around the Marina or the Palm, its size is worth keeping in mind when parking; it is a car to place carefully, not squeeze into the first tight space you see.

For days with more than one stop

The Velar suits a business visit that moves between meetings, a family staying in Dubai, or an airport run with a sensible amount of luggage. It also makes a comfortable choice for a day out towards Abu Dhabi Corniche, where its relaxed manner feels more relevant than outright performance. If you want to rent a Land Rover in Dubai without choosing the largest SUV in the line-up, this is a considered option.

It has five seats and five doors, so passengers have their own access to the rear rather than folding through a front seat. For a wedding arrival or a photo shoot, the blue paint gives it some presence without looking overly showy.
